Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle." Psalm 144:1
Have you ever thought that the battle to win souls requires you to "train your fingers"?
The number of lost souls surfing online and searching for answers is increasing every day.
Every year approximately 300 million people join ongoing conversations on social media. If the apostle Paul had been alive today, he might have identified social media as the "agora" of our day.
People today - and especially the new younger generation - prefers to start conversations through online engagement.
From our experience, people are more open to talk about spiritual topics when you approach them online. While we might have learned to do ministry effectively offline, reaching people online calls for us to learn new skills and "train our fingers" to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
"Spiritual journeys" are series of short conversational messages to connect the gospel with what we call "felt needs" such as the need to be loved, to belong, to be accepted, to be forgiven, the need for identity, the need for words of hope in turbulent times, etc. These short conversational messages are adapted for social media messaging apps like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. They are sent daily in semi automated format enabled by AI technology. By subscribing to them someone can interact with biblical truths, as well as a volunteer who will help them understand these truths and lead them to Jesus.
THE AMAZING QUESTION - DIGITAL VERSION
The Amazing Question is based on the story of Bartimaeus, the blind man to whom Jesus gave sight. When Bartimaeus called out to Jesus, Jesus asked him: "What can I do for you?" This is what we call the Amazing Question. We have found that sharing the story Of Bartimaeus, and asking people to answer Jesus'question for themselves, creates a powerful moment that opens a window for the Gospel. We have put this approach into an semi -automated format that connects ads and a chat bot in Social Media, leading to a personal gospel conversation with users. The strategy has been implemented in more than 20 cities in Europe, Africa, Asia, with similiar results no matter the location. One out of five people who clicked on the Amazing Question shared their prayer request. That opened great opportunities to show care through prayer and share the gospel.
We have seen God using the Amazing Question Online strategy in the following ways:
to mobilize believers to share the gospel
to reach nonbelievers and generate new contacts
to lead people to Christ
to launch new groups
We believe you can experience similar results.
Here are some testimonies from leaders around the world:
"During Easter, we held online outreaches using the Amazing Question. Out of 742 connections, 359 were spiritual conversations with 143 full gospel presentations. 34 believed and are involved in the process of discipleship. The most exciting part is that five people joined existing groups and five joined home churches."
